The band The Moonchildren presents their new album „Grace“ after turbulent years
The legendary band The Moonchildren, founded in 1986 by visual artist and singer-songwriter Oliver Fauser, announces their latest musical work: „Grace.“
The album not only highlights the versatility and creative mastery of songwriter Fauser but also represents his personal journey through highs and lows, loss, and new beginnings.
After a successful phase in the art scene and the 2016 album „Feel,“ the Covid-19 pandemic brought an abrupt end to his upcoming exhibitions. In 2021, Fauser returned to his musical roots. The first song he wrote, the captivating country-pop song „My Darling One,“ served as the catalyst that inspired Oliver to dedicate himself more intensively to music. The tragic suffering of his mother from dementia and her eventual death became a dramatic backdrop to the production.
The grief and tumultuous events in his life, including the sale of his long-time home in a small town in the Black Forest, became a source of inspiration for Fauser. From this challenging time, he drew new joy and strength that propelled him. Months of writing followed before he decided to embark on the Camino de Santiago in Portugal, continuing to Santiago de Compostela and further to Finisterra. This adventurous journey became a turning point, encouraging Fauser to write and record more songs.
Upon his return, Fauser’s father passed away, just six months after his mother’s death. Two close family members fell seriously ill with cancer. Despite these setbacks, Fauser remained committed to his musical project. He shed the bad habits of the past and found the love of his life. A three-month joint journey through South America ensued.
The result of this transformation, loss, and love is the album „Grace.“ With 17 songs, 14 of which will be released on CD, Fauser presents a blend of various styles. The catchy choruses and raw guitar riffs unmistakably identify the songs as Moonchildren songs. The album, a true one-man project, showcases Fauser’s versatile talents as a songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. He was supported by talents such as the guitar virtuoso Bart Dietvorst from Holland, the Argentine singer Laura Loise, and the bassist Loïc Espesset. The production and mixing of the album were handled by Fauser and his longtime sound engineer and musical companion Mario Melle. He also designed the cover artwork, videos, and all artistic elements of the album himself.
„Grace“ is a tribute to the strength of the human spirit and the transformative power of music. The album was mastered by the renowned three-time Grammy-winning sound engineer Bob Katz from Florida and promises an emotional rollercoaster for the listeners. The Moonchildren are back – stronger, more creative, and with more depth than ever before.
The album will be released on CD on February 14, 2024, and will be exclusively available on www.themoonchildren.eu. The Earlybird release on Bandcamp will take place on March 1, 2024, followed by the release on all major platforms such as Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, etc., on March 8, 2024.

Die Band The Moonchildren präsentiert ihr neues Album „Grace“ nach turbulenten Jahren
Die Band The Moonchildren, 1986 von dem bildenden Künstler und Singer-Songwriter Oliver Fauser gegründet, kündigt ihr neuestes musikalisches Werk an: „Grace“.
Das Album unterstreicht nicht nur die Vielseitigkeit und kreative Meisterschaft von Songschreiber Fauser, sondern repräsentiert auch seine persönliche Reise durch Höhen und Tiefen, Verlust und Neubeginn.
Nach einer erfolgreichen Phase in der Kunstszene und dem 2016er Album „Feel“, brachte die Covid-Pandemie seine bevorstehenden Ausstellungen zu einem abrupten Ende. So besann sich Fauser 2021 auf seine musikalischen Wurzeln. Der erste Song den er schrieb, der mitreißende Country-Pop-Song „My Darling One“ wurde der Auslöser, der Oliver dazu inspirierte, sich wieder intensiver der Musik zu widmen. Dabei wurde das tragische Leiden seiner Mutter an Demenz und ihrem schließlichen Tod zu einer dramatischen Begleitung der Produktion.
Die Trauer und die turbulenten Ereignisse seines Lebens, darunter der Verkauf seines langjährigen Zuhauses in einer kleinen Stadt im Schwarzwald, wurden zur Quelle der Inspiration für Fauser. Aus dieser schweren Zeit schöpfte er neue Lebensfreude/ Kraft, die ihn antrieb. Monate des Schreibens folgten, bevor er sich entschied, den Jakobsweg in Portugal nach Santiago de Compostela und weiter nach Finisterra zu gehen. Diese erlebnisreiche Reise wurde zu einem Wendepunkt, der Fauser dazu ermutigte, noch mehr Songs zu schreiben und aufzunehmen.
Nach seiner Rückkehr starb Fausers Vater, nur sechs Monate nach dem Tod seiner Mutter. Zwei enge Familienmitglieder erkrankten schwer an Krebs. Trotz dieser Rückschläge blieb Fauser seinem musikalischen Projekt treu. Er legte die schlechten Gewohnheiten der Vergangenheit ab und fand die Liebe seines Lebens. Eine dreimonatige gemeinsame Reise durch Südamerika folgte.
Das Ergebnis dieses Wandels, des Verlusts und der Liebe ist das Album „Grace“. Mit 17 Songs, von denen 14 auf CD veröffentlicht werden, präsentiert Fauser eine Mischung aus vielen Stilen. Die eingängigen Refrains und die rauen Gitarrenriffs machen die Songs eindeutig als Moonchildren-Songs erkennbar. Das Album, ein wahres One-Man-Projekt, zeigt die vielseitigen Talente von Fauser als Songschreiber, Sänger und Multiinstrumentalist. Unterstützt wurde er u.a. von Cracks wie dem Gitarrenvirtuosen Bart Dietvorst aus Holland, der argentinischen Sängerin Laura Loise und dem Bassisten Loïc Espesset. Die Produktion und Abmischung des Albums übernahmen Fauser und sein langjähriger Tontechniker und musikalischer Wegbegleiter Mario Melle. Auch das Cover-Artwork, die Videos und sämtliche künstlerischen Elemente des Albums gestaltete er selbst.
„Grace“ ist eine Hommage an die Stärke des menschlichen Geistes und die transformative Kraft der Musik. Das Album wurde vom renommierten dreifach Grammy-prämierten Toningenieur Bob Katz aus Florida gemastert und verspricht eine emotionale Achterbahnfahrt für die Zuhörer. The Moonchildren sind zurück – stärker, kreativer und mit mehr Tiefe als je zuvor.
Das Album wird als CD am 14. Februar 2024 veröffentlicht und u.a. auf www.themoonchildren.eu erhältlich sein. Der Earlybird-Release auf Bandcamp erfolgt am 1. März 2024, efolgt von der Veröffentlichung auf allen bekannten Plattformen wie Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, etc. am 8. März 2024.
